Under the direction of the Food & Nutrition management team, the Food Service Associate is responsible for serving and delivering food and nutritional products to patients and customers, demonstrating exemplary customer service skills. The Food Service Associate may perform various roles within the Food & Nutrition Department, including: assembler, hostess, cashier, dining room aid, pots cleaner, and cleaning aid.
Responsibilities - Includes job assignments within the kitchen, Blue Wave Cafeteria, and Concourse Café:
1. Prepare meal trays, serve, and/or deliver food to patients and customers.
2. Maintain an organized, clean, and sanitary work environment at all times.
3. Provide exceptional customer service consistently.
4. Follow daily job assignments, cleaning duties, and scheduled hours as posted.
5. Handle all technology assigned to you with proper care.
6. Follow all departmental policies and procedures.
7. Adhere to dress code standards, including cleanliness, grooming, and neatness.
Job Qualifications and Specifications
A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred, along with six months of related experience or equivalent. Ability to follow oral and written instructions, keep accurate records, and proficiency in English are required.
