The NDA File Handler role involves working within a team of fraud specialists and legal support staff. The successful candidate will manage a caseload of Litigated RTA suspected fraud files for various insurance clients, working closely with claims handlers and Lead Lawyers to achieve optimal, commercially sound outcomes. The role demands adherence to defined processes, a forensic approach to evidence, and high commercial awareness. Decision-making within set timeframes aligned with case strategies is essential.
Additionally, the NDA File Handler will employ strategic foresight to ensure all litigation opportunities are maximized, shaping the future of the counter-fraud arena.
The caseload includes suspected fraudulent insurance claims such as:
* Bogus Passenger
* Staged/Contrived
* Fraudulent Exaggeration
* Induced accidents
* Low Speed Impact
* Late Notification Claims
* Credit Hire Fraud
* MIB
* Linked & Organised Crime
Key Responsibilities
The NDA File Handler will oversee cases from litigation initiation to resolution, including:
* Strategic Excellence
* Review and analyze evidence throughout the case
* Set and agree on case strategies with clients, following guidelines from Lead Lawyers and Technical Leads
* Follow all process stages diligently
* Identify litigation opportunities and complex cases
* Recognize client trends and opportunities to enhance client engagement
Client Excellence involves handling files per client guidelines, ensuring high satisfaction, timely MI completion, and meeting KPIs.
Technical excellence includes reporting to insurers, liaising with involved parties, meeting procedural deadlines, advocating in litigation when appropriate, and maintaining accurate case management records.
Financial Excellence requires working efficiently to meet profitability targets, timely billing, and awareness of financial implications.
Cultural Excellence emphasizes adherence to company values.
Working Hours: 35 hours/week, Monday–Friday, 9am–5pm, with 1 unpaid lunch hour. The primary location is Bolton, Parklands Office, with a flexible attendance policy of at least 1 day in the office per week.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
* Experience in civil litigation claims handling or as a legal File Handler (ILEX, LPC, etc.)
* Experience with linked and organised fraud is desirable but not essential
* Experience handling RTA pre-litigated and litigated caseloads
* Understanding of insurance litigation practices and principles
* Knowledge of litigation processes and CPR
* Good advocacy and client care skills
* High analytical capability
* Excellent communication skills
* Ability to prioritize, meet deadlines, and work under pressure
* Experience with time recording and billing systems
* Proficiency in IT Skills
