JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY
Post-doctoral fellowship in multi-modal (speech, text, and/or vision) machine learning as applied to the study of human behavior in educational and group collaboration contexts. Faculty mentor: Prof. Jacob Whitehill.
JOB DESCRIPTION
Conduct both basic and applied research in machine learning and its applications to multi-modal (primarily speech, text, and vision) human behavior analysis, especially in classroom and group collaboration contexts. Design both computational and human-subjects experiments to test novel ways of automatically observing human behavior. Collaborate with other scientists from multiple academic institutions in learning science, social science, computer science, and data science. Write and publish conference and journal publications. Write and submit research grants to federal funding agencies. Help to implement research prototypes in code. Help to advise graduate and undergraduate students at WPI.
REQUIREMENTS:
- PhD in computer science, data science, machine learning, or similar.
- Record of research publications at high-quality conferences/journals in the fields of machine learning, artificial intelligence, educational data mining, speech analysis, multi-modal behavior analysis, etc.
