An opportunity to join a specialist service supporting children and young people with eating disorders across Sussex.
Sussex Partnership NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Consultant Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist to join the Sussex Family Eating Disorder Service (SFEDS), part of Children and Young People’s Services (ChYPS).
This role offers the opportunity to play a key part in delivering high-quality, evidence-based care for young people aged 10–18 experiencing eating disorders, working closely with families and carers within a specialist multidisciplinary service.
About the role
As Consultant Psychiatrist within SFEDS, you will provide specialist psychiatric assessment, treatment and clinical leadership within the service.
The role involves working collaboratively with young people, families and professionals to develop effective treatment plans aligned with NICE guidance and evidence-based practice.
Your responsibilities will include:
• Undertaking specialist psychiatric assessments and treatment planning
• Supporting the delivery of evidence-based interventions for eating disorders
• Providing clinical leadership within a multidisciplinary team
• Advising professionals across services supporting young people with eating disorders
• Supporting service development and quality improvement initiatives
• Participating in clinical governance, audit and research activities
You will work within a supportive team including nurses, systemic family therapists, clinical psychologists, child psychotherapists and other specialist practitioners.
You will also be part of the wider Trust Consultant network, providing opportunities for peer support, collaboration and professional development.

About you
You will be a Consultant Psychiatrist in Child and Adolescent Mental Health, with GMC registration and inclusion on the Specialist Register (or within six months).
You will demonstrate:
• Expertise in CAMHS and the management of complex mental health presentations
• Strong clinical leadership and multidisciplinary team working
• Ability to manage clinical complexity and uncertainty
• Commitment to teaching, research and service improvement
• Experience supporting collaborative, person-centred care with young people and families
