Job Description
Tech Trailblazer Wanted: IT Operations Analyst - Watford
Fancy being a key player in a massive operation that builds and maintains the infrastructure of, well, a good chunk of the UK? We're talking one of the giants in Civil Engineering, Construction, and Facilities Maintenance, and they need a top-tier IT Operations Analyst to keep their digital heart beating strong.
Forget just keeping the lights on. This is about diving into the latest tech - cloud services, automation, the whole shebang - and making a real impact across 300 locations. If you're the kind of person who gets a kick out of solving complex problems, loves being part of a team, and wants to see your work actually make a difference, then read on.
Here's what you'll be doing:
* Keeping on-premises and cloud environments purring like a kitten (a very powerful, high-availability kitten).
* Collaborating with the app support crew to squash bugs and keep things running smoothly.
* Being the guardian of the network, servers, and systems, ensuring 6500 users stay connected and secure.
* Future-proofing the infrastructure - lifecycle management, continuous improvement, the whole nine yards.
* Orchestrating changes, testing new stuff, and deploying it all without breaking a sweat (okay, maybe a little sweat, but good sweat).
* Working with all sorts of people, internal and external, to deliver a stellar service.
* Being a security ninja, protecting the digital kingdom.
* Basically, being an IT superhero.
What you need to bring to the table:
* You're a Microsoft Cloud whiz.
* You speak fluent Azure (Site Recovery, M365, Exchange Online, OneDrive, Teams - you know the lingo).
* You're a networking guru (private endpoints, firewalls, VPNs - all second nature).
* Windows, Linux, servers - you've got them tamed.
* The Microsoft infrastructure stack? Your playground (Active Directory, Hyper-V, failover clustering - easy peasy).
* PowerShell and automation are your secret weapons.
* You're all over monitoring, alerting, and log analytics (Sentinel, Logic Apps, API Management gateways, Azure Application Proxies).
* You know your way around LAN and WAN infrastructure like the back of your hand (switching, routing, firewalls, MPLS, SD-WAN - the whole shebang).
The Perks:
* Training and development to keep your skills razor-sharp.
* A solid holiday allowance (26 days + bank holidays).
* A generous pension.
* Life assurance.
* And the chance to be part of a company that's serious about sustainability and putting people first.
