Our client is looking for experienced Electrical Engineers with a background in HV systems design to join their team to work on projects across Nuclear and Defence facilities and systems.
Projects range from small scoping and feasibility studies for modifications or upgrades to the design of complex process plants including nuclear power stations and COMAH sites.
You must have experience working with a safety critical environment and be an excellent communicator to be considered for this role!
Key Responsibilities:
* Technical project delivery of power/energy projects within Defence and/or Nuclear.
* Deliver innovation projects, taking new systems and technologies from concept through to acceptance.
* System Design of High voltage AC and DC electrical power and distribution, including power system / grid connection studies.
* Design or specification of energy storage and power supply systems.
* Manage the production, verification and approval of electrical reports, specifications, and detailed design drawings.
* Specialist equipment support, for example: generators, transformers, switchgear, cables.
* Manage a project team to ensure production of deliverables to agreed timelines and within budget.
* Develop requirements with clients and negotiate contracts / agreements.
* Provide progress reporting and risk management.
Key Skills:
* Strong technical delivery experience within Energy/Power, ideally within Nuclear and/or Defence.
* Electrical Design, specifically FEED and Design Specification.
* Technical delivery experience and management would be beneficial.
* Development and Verification of design/substantiation deliverables.
* Transmission and Distribution.
* Micro-Grids.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
* A Chartered Engineer (or desire to be one) is desirable.
* Experience working with the following would be beneficial: DNO / National Grid, Marine Power System Design, HVDC, Power Electronics, Earthing Schemes ISO 55001, Regulators.
