The Role and Candidate
We are seeking an experienced HR Business Partner (HRBP) to support both our Europe Regional Office in London and our Northern Europe operations (initially Denmark, followed by Norway and Sweden). This role combines hands-on HR support for the Regional Office with responsibility for establishing and managing HR structures in Northern Europe.
The HRBP will act as a trusted partner for managers and employees, providing professional HR advice while aligning local execution with regional and global standards. The role is London-based with regular travel to Denmark and other Nordic countries to manage HR activities locally.
Responsibilities
1. HR Operations & Compliance (Northern Europe):
* Establish and oversee HR operations in Denmark, including payroll, benefits, compliance, and local HR policies
* Act as the main contact with local authorities, payroll providers, and external advisors
* Extend HR support to Norway and Sweden as entities are established
2. Business Partnering:
* Act as HRBP for managers and employees in the Regional Office and in Northern Europe
* Provide guidance on employee relations, performance management, workforce planning, and development
* Support leaders with talent planning, succession, and organisational growth
3. Recruitment & Onboarding:
* Manage end-to-end recruitment for Denmark and future Nordic markets using local job boards, direct sourcing, referrals, and talent pools
* Plan and run recruitment days and assessment centres for new store openings and seasonal ramp-ups
* Oversee recruitment and onboarding in the Nordic region, collaborating with the Europe Talent Acquisition team on Regional Office hiring
* Deliver onboarding programmes that reflect POP MART culture and values
4. Employee Relations & Culture:
* Handle sensitive employee matters with professionalism and in compliance with local legislation
* Build trust with managers and employees as a reliable HR partner
* Support engagement initiatives and cultural development across both local and regional teams
5. Regional Projects & Cross-Border Collaboration:
* Contribute to Europe-wide HR programmes such as performance management, compensation review, training, and HRIS roll-out.
* Ensure local HR practices are aligned with regional standards while adapted to national legislation.
* Act as a bridge between Northern Europe, the Europe HR team, and HQ Beijing.
Required Qualifications
* Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field
* Minimum of 5 years' HR experience, including as a generalist or HRBP
* Strong knowledge of Danish labour law; exposure to Norway or Sweden is an advantage
* Proven track record in employee relations, recruitment, and HR operations
* Experience working in international and multi-country environments
* Strong communication and influencing skills, with the ability to partner effectively at all levels
* Pragmatic, adaptable, and comfortable working in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment
* Fluent in English, with proficiency in Danish or Swedish
* Willingness to travel regularly within Northern Europe to manage HR activities locally
Desirable but Not Essential
* Experience in the retail or consumer goods sector, ideally in international expansion or multi-country operations
* Exposure to scaling HR frameworks in growth-stage organisations
* Interest in the toy, entertainment, or broader pop culture industries
* Previous experience implementing HRIS or regional HR transformation projects
