Job Title: SEMH Teaching Assistant
Location: Sheffield
Salary: £460 – £600 per week
Contract Type: Full time, long-term / Day-to-day
Start Date: Immediately

A local school in Sheffield is seeking a dedicated and compassionate individual to join their team as an SEMH Teaching Assistant, helping students achieve their full potential academically, socially, and emotionally.

About the Role:
As an SEMH Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting students’ learning and development. You will assist teachers in delivering personalised lessons, provide emotional support, and contribute to creating a positive and structured learning environment that fosters growth and independence.

Responsibilities:

* Support students in engaging with lessons and activities, adapting approaches to individual needs.
* Assist in implementing personalised learning plans and interventions.
* Build strong relationships with students to encourage trust, confidence, and motivation.
* Collaborate with teaching staff and other professionals to provide comprehensive support.
* Monitor and record student progress, behaviour, and development in line with school policies.
* Assist with personal care and well-being where necessary, maintaining dignity and respect.
* Promote positive social and emotional development through structured support and guidance.

Qualifications:

* Previous experience in a similar SEMH or teaching assistant role is preferred.
* Understanding of social, emotional, and mental health needs and support strategies.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
* Ability to adapt to the dynamic needs of students.
* A compassionate, patient, and supportive approach to all learners.
