Description The Net Zero Teesside (NZT) project in association with the Northern Endurance Partnership (NEP) intend to kick start de-carbonisation of the Humber & Teesside industrial clusters during the mid-2020s. Through NEP, bp is leading development of the East Coast Cluster, which aims to decarbonize the Teesside and Humber regions and establish a platform for economic growth. Working for an on behalf of bp, Costain has been awarded the Off Site Battery Limits (OSBL) scope of work which is the onshore pipelines and power cable requirements of the project. It will be Costain’s responsibility to design and deliver the main aspects of this scope Due to project growth, the position of Senior Environmental Advisor is now required. This role will support the Contract Environmental functions, provide, and support Environmental solutions and enable the Contract / Operational Teams to implement the Group SHE Management System. You will build and maintain relationships with all stakeholders, whilst providing an independent and objective view of SHE Performance on the Contract. This role is based full time on the project in Teesside LI-AW1 Responsibilities Support and Influence Contract Leadership Team, Clients, and other Stakeholders in compliance with the Group SHE Management System and Contract Environmental Performance Support and where required deliver training, to allow the contract team to successfully implement the Group SHE Management System Coach and support the Contract Operational and Supply Chain Contractors in the delivery of the Contract Environmental requirements Where required be actively involved in the ongoing assessment of the Contracts Supply Chain Contractors Actively support the delivery of the annual Contract and Group SHE Objectives Actively engage with the Contract Environmental Assurance programme to ensure compliance with company and statutory requirements Actively support the investigation of all unplanned events and close out of assurance findings, ensuring lessons are shared in accordance with the SHE Management System Support the timely reporting, analysis, and use of Environmental data to support and influence the Contract Leadership Team and where required support the development and implementation of data-based improvement plans Managing subcontractors documentation and compliance Stakeholder management Qualifications Degree in environmental with 3 years’ experience Environmental related experience (3 years) PIEMA or equivalent (working towards MIEMA/ CEnv) Contaminated land and brownfield experience Experience in SHE management systems & contract environmental performance. Project reporting, effective communication skills, high levels of numeracy and analytical skills. Experience working in the Energy Sector. DCO and consenting experience is desirable.
