About us:
We are the Information Intelligence Group (IIG) of CACI UK, a specialist technical consultancy providing bespoke solutions to solve complex operational problems. Due to some exciting growth within our Central Government business, we are interested in speaking with an experienced Senior Devops Engineer.
Role Location:
You can work from any of our 6 offices in the UK (including Bristol, Cheltenham & London) or from home, you decide. The role will however require you to visit London-based customers bi-weekly.
About the Role:
The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, building, and evolving our AWS cloud infrastructure, ensuring its reliability, scalability, and security. Key Responsibilities will include:
1. Designing, implementing, and maintaining cloud infrastructure on AWS
2. Deploying, scaling, and managing Kubernetes clusters. Familiarity with related technologies such as Docker and Helm.
3. Developing and implementing automated tools and processes for building, deployment, monitoring, testing, and maintenance of infrastructure and applications
4. Developing and maintaining policies and procedures for security, compliance, and disaster recovery
5. Optimizing infrastructure for high availability, fault tolerance, and cost efficiency
6. Continuously monitoring and improving infrastructure and application performance
7. Troubleshooting and resolving infrastructure and application issues
8. Managing and mentoring junior DevOps engineers
The Fit:
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in AWS services, automation tools, and DevOps practices. We are looking for someone passionate about technology, enjoys problem-solving, and has a collaborative mindset. Additional skills include:
1. Extensive experience deploying cloud platforms at scale using AWS Organisations / Control Tower / Landing Zones
2. Expert-level experience with Infrastructure as Code tooling such as Ansible, CloudFormation, or Terraform
3. Extensive background in Configuration Management and Automation
4. Strong knowledge of Linux/Unix systems administration
5. Expert-level experience in AWS Networking / TCP / Firewalls / Certificates
6. Advanced proficiency with containers and container orchestration tools such as Docker and Kubernetes
7. Experience designing and building monitoring and logging tools such as CloudWatch, ELK, and Grafana
8. Programming skills in at least one language, preferably Python or Go
9. Strong scripting skills in Bash, JavaScript, or similar
10. Knowledge of SecDevOps security best practices and experience implementing security controls in a cloud environment including SIEM, GuardDuty, Shield, Inspector, and Security Hub
11. Experience with CI/CD pipeline development and management
12. Best practice configuration of Identity and Access Management (IAM) and IAM Identity Center
Security Clearance: Due to the industries we work in, the successful candidate must be able to obtain high-level security clearance. To qualify, you must be a British citizen and have lived permanently in the UK for the last 5 years.
