1:1 Teaching Assistant - Location: Maypole, Birmingham B14 - Weekly Pay: £480 - £500 - Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30 am to 3:30 pm (term time only) - Start Date: ASAP - Contract: Long-term, with potential to become permanent Long Term Futures are searching for a patient, resilient and proactive SEN Teaching Assistant to support one of our partner mainstream primary schools in Maypole, Birmingham. This is a 1:1 role supporting a Year 2 pupil with a diagnosis of ASD. The pupil is verbal, articulate and independent with personal care; however, he can present with challenging behaviour and requires consistent, structured support to help manage emotions and remain engaged in learning. You will play a key role in implementing behaviour strategies and supporting both academic and social development. The role is offered on a long-term basis with the potential to become a permanent position for the right candidate. What the school is looking for: - Qualifications: Level 2 or 3 Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools (or equivalent) preferred. - Experience: Strong experience supporting children on a 1:1 basis within a primary school setting. - Skills: Experience supporting pupils with ASD and managing challenging behaviour. - Knowledge: Understanding of behaviour management strategies, emotional regulation techniques and supporting pupils with additional needs within the classroom.
