Where will you be working? This role can be based in Stevenage or Newcastle on a hybrid basis, the successful candidate will be required to be office based for 3 days a week. This role is in our IT department, our IT Cyber Security team is responsible for protecting the Confidentiality, Integrity, and availability of systems and data across M Group ltd Want to come and be a part of it? What will you be doing? We’re looking for a cybersecurity professional to help protect our systems and data from threats and vulnerabilities. You’ll monitor and respond to security incidents, analyse emerging risks, and enhance vulnerability and patch management efforts. Your role will include overseeing compliance, supporting penetration tests, managing threat monitoring tools, and collaborating with our Security Operations Center (SOC) provider to refine security measures. You’ll also report on risks, provide insights on security trends, and contribute to the improvement of Group IT processes. Qualifications What you’ll bring: A Bachelor of Science Degree in Cyber Security or Computer Science A Certification Such As Security Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH) Microsoft AZ-500 Azure Security Engineer Associate Azure Fundamentals GIAC Security Essentials Certification (GSEC) CompTIA Advance Security Practitioner (CASP) Experience Experience in IT Security/Cyber Operations Analytical and problem-solving skills, the ability to systematically break down complex issues and tasks into manageable pieces. Skilled in root cause analysis and provide possible solutions. Ability to present ideas in business-friendly and user-friendly language. Ability to work independently as well as part of a team, seamlessly collaborating with others. Good communication, critical thinking, and organizational skills. A strong interest to learn/develop further in the field of Security and Compliance Knowledge of products such as CrowdStrike, Qualys or Zscaler and experience deploying them in both cloud and local environments. Proven track record of following up on required security alerts/actions with relevant stakeholders to achieve successful conclusions. Proficiency in gathering, collating, and analysing cyber threat intelligence. Experience assisting with internal audit functions. Demonstrable experience working in a Cyber Security Analyst role or a similar position. What’s in it for you?
