Design and Technology Teacher

Salary: From £170 per day (dependant on experience)
About the Role
We are seeking a passionate, dedicated, and motivated Design and Technology Teacher to join a successful and forward‑thinking D&T department. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced teacher or an ambitious ECT looking to begin their career in a highly supportive environment.
You will deliver engaging, creative, and practical lessons that inspire students, foster innovation, and develop problem‑solving skills across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4. The ability to teach one or more D&T specialisms—Product Design, Resistant Materials, Engineering, Graphics, or Food Technology—is highly desirable.
Key Responsibilities
* Plan and deliver engaging, hands‑on, and differentiated lessons across KS3‑KS4 up to GCSE level.
* Assess and track student progress, providing constructive feedback to support their development.
* Contribute to curriculum planning and development within the Design & Technology department.
* Maintain high expectations for behaviour, safety, and workshop practice.
* Take part in departmental meetings, CPD sessions, and whole‑school initiatives.
* Support the academic, creative, and personal growth of all learners.

What We're Looking For
* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
* Excellent subject knowledge in Design & Technology and genuine enthusiasm for your specialism(s).
* Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one).
* High expectations and a commitment to raising attainment.
* Ability to build positive, supportive relationships with students and colleagues.
* A reflective practitioner committed to ongoing professional development.
