Overview
Our department is seeking an enthusiastic and flexible full time resident doctor. This post offers an excellent opportunity to gain both clinical and surgical experience within a teaching hospital setting. The successful candidate will participate in the on call rota for both Obstetrics and Gynaecology.
Responsibilities
* Participate in on call rota for Obstetrics and Gynaecology.
* Receive supervised and protected ultrasound training sessions (Transabdominal and Transvaginal) within the Gynaecology Day Assessment Unit (GDAU).
* Attend regular clinical sessions in the antenatal clinic, gynaecology clinic, maternity day assessment unit, and theatre sessions.
* Engage in teaching, audit and quality improvement activities; participate in weekly department teaching sessions.
* Work under direct and indirect supervision of consultants; communicate effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
* Demonstrate compassion towards patients with strong time management and organisational skills.
* Duties include Labour/Gynaecology/Night on call and involvement in various clinical areas (Obstetrics - Triage/Antenatal ward/Maternity Day assessment unit/Antenatal clinic; CS; Gynaecology - CEPOD, Gynaecology clinic, Main theatre, Day Surgery Unit, GDAU).
Training and Development
The department provides essential training such as PROMPT, CTG study day, and MED2. There are opportunities to engage in teaching, audit and quality improvement activities, and department-wide training supports continued learning and professional development.
Supervision and Skills
The postholder will work under both direct and indirect supervision of consultants. Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team are essential.
