About the Role
As a Legal Associate, you will handle day-to-day legal matters, review and draft contracts, support compliance in the UK, and provide legal advice. This role requires strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and proficiency in both English and Chinese, as you will be in regular contact with our HQ.
Key Responsibilities
* Draft, review, and negotiate contracts, agreements, and other legal documents related to logistics, cross-border e-commerce operations, real estate transactions, etc.
* Provide legal support and guidance to the management and other departments on compliance, employment law, and commercial law matters.
* Coordinate with external legal counsel when necessary to resolve disputes or handle complex cases.
* Communicate regularly with HQ in China to align on legal requirements, policies, and risk management.
* Support the company in ensuring compliance with local regulations, including Data Protection Act, labor law, commercial law, and guidelines from regulatory authorities.
* Assist in managing corporate governance matters, maintaining records, and updating internal legal policies.
* Provide training or guidance to internal teams on essential legal and compliance matters.
Requirements
* Master’s degree or above in Law from the UK
* Proficiency in both English and Chinese (written and spoken) to ensure smooth communication with HQ in China
* At least three years’ experience as a Legal Assistant, Paralegal, or Legal Associate in a law firm or a company’s internal legal department; experience in logistics, e-commerce, or related industries is preferred
* Strong legal drafting, contract review and negotiation skills
* Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to build professional relationships across departments
* Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize and meet deadlines
* Ability to work independently while maintaining strong collaboration within a team environment
* High level of initiative and problem-solving ability
* Proficiency with Microsoft Office and legal research tools
