Position title: Reader/Senior Lecturer in Construction Materials and Materials Technology

Senior Lecturer (Grade 10): £61,929 to £65,537 per annum inclusive of London Weighting with potential to progress to £67,422 per annum inclusive of London Weighting
Reader (ACR Grade): £71,365 to £75,543 per annum inclusive of London Weighting

Civil and Environmental Engineering at Brunel University London is enjoying a sustained period of growth in our research portfolio and educational provisions, in particular postgraduate taught provision. We are now looking to appoint an academic in construction materials and materials technology at either Senior Lecturer or Reader level, depending on the merit of the successful candidate. Applicants are required to indicate which level (Senior Lecturer or Reader) they are applying for in their cover letter or application form. The Department is very strong in construction materials and materials technology. We welcome applications from candidates who can strengthen and/or complement our current expertise with research that is able to address climate change effects, carbon neutrality, sustainability, resilience, waste valorisation and digital manufacturing and transformation closely related to the construction sector and built environment.
The successful candidate should be self-motivated with clear ability and expertise. In addition, the successful candidate is expected to have a PhD in Civil Engineering, Materials Science and/or Engineering or another relevant discipline, and should aspire to develop an internationally recognised profile in the chosen field of expertise. Shortlisted candidates are expected to demonstrate their potential through the quality of journal publications, research income generation, student supervision at all levels, course development & management, enabling good student experience and external engagement with stakeholders that are able to bring values to the department and the university.
