Are you looking for a hands-on, fast-paced role in one of the UK's busiest ports? We're seeking reliable and hardworking Port Operatives to join our growing team in Immingham. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys physical work, teamwork, and a dynamic environment where no two days are the same.
About the Role
As a Port Operative, you'll play a key part in supporting the safe and efficient movement of cargo across the port. Your responsibilities may include:
Loading and unloading vessels, trailers, and containers
Operating port machinery and equipment (training provided)
General labouring, cargo handling, and yard duties
Following health & safety procedures at all times
Working effectively as part of a team to meet operational targetsThis role suits people who are proactive, safety-focused, and happy to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
Key Skills & Experience
While previous port or warehouse experience is beneficial, it's not essential as full training will be provided. We're looking for:
Good level of physical fitness
Ability to work shifts, including nights or weekends if required
Strong teamwork and communication skills
A safety-first mindset
Reliability and a positive attitude
Ability to reliably get to site, due to limitations on public transport and location of the site own transport is essentialDesirable qualifications:
Counterbalance FLT licence
UK Drivers licence
Tug/Shunter experience
RoRo experience
Loading shovel experience
Reachstacker experience
Overhead Gantry crane experience
Banksman/Slinger certification
Full UK driving licence
