Overview
Lead Systems Engineer £65,000 Benefits Hybrid (2 days required onsite a week) Plymouth Certain Advantage is hiring for a Lead Systems Engineer to join a major defence engineering programme developing next-generation Electronic Warfare and Radar systems. This is a permanent opportunity offering hybrid working, long-term project stability, and the chance to work on innovative systems at the forefront of defence technology.
Responsibilities
* As Lead Systems Engineer, you’ll take ownership of requirements management, systems definition, and verification across the full engineering lifecycle.
* You’ll ensure technical integrity, compliance, and traceability throughout development.
* Developing and managing project requirements using DOORs
* Defining and implementing the project’s Requirements Management and DOORS Implementation Plans
* Supporting requirements definition, apportionment, and traceability from system to sub-system level
* Producing verification and compliance documentation
* Managing verification evidence and supporting data for compliance demonstration
* Liaising with multidisciplinary engineering teams
The Individual
This role will suit someone with a strong background in systems engineering within the defence, aerospace, or radar sectors. You’ll bring excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively across engineering functions.
Requirements
* Experience in Requirements Management and Systems Engineering processes
* Specialist-level knowledge of DOORS
* Familiarity with tools such as Atlassian, Cameo Systems Modeller, or MATLAB
* Understanding of Electronic Warfare, RF systems, Radar, or electro-optic systems
* Strong documentation and verification experience
* Eligibility for full UK Security Clearance
