Job Title: SEN Teacher Location: Barnsley Pay Rate: £140 – £190 per day (depending on experience) Start Date: Immediate Contract Type: Day-to-day / Long-term | Full-time / Part-time Are you a driven and compassionate SEN Teacher looking to positively shape the educational journey of pupils with additional needs? GSL Education are seeking an SEN Teacher to join a nurturing and inclusive school in Barnsley. This is an excellent opportunity for a committed educator to support pupils’ academic, social, and emotional development within a highly supportive learning environment. As an SEN Teacher, you will: Plan and deliver engaging, well-structured lessons tailored to meet the individual needs of SEND pupils. Differentiate learning to support a wide range of abilities and educational requirements. Foster confidence, independence, and positive learning behaviours among pupils. Assess and monitor pupil progress, providing targeted feedback to aid development. Work collaboratively with support staff, therapists, and parents to ensure holistic support for each learner. Maintain a positive, inclusive, and safe classroom environment that encourages pupil success. Requirements for SEN Teacher: UK Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or a recognised teaching qualification. Previous experience teaching pupils with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND). Strong classroom management, organisational, and communication skills. A patient, adaptable, and nurturing approach to teaching. Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children. An enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service (or willingness to apply).
