Care, Health and Sport Faculty
Start Date: 4th August 2025 (subject to PVG completion)
Hours: 35 hours per week
Contract: Permanent
Salary: £54,500 (salary subject to pending job evaluation)
This salary includes £2,500 market allowance, which is in place until the outcome of job evaluation is confirmed and then will be reviewed.
West Lothian College is seeking to appoint a Learning and Skills Manager within the Care, Health and Sport faculty.
This key role aims to enhance college activities by supporting, developing, and improving the curriculum teams across the Childhood Practice and Sports and Fitness departments. The successful candidate will manage the curriculum portfolio within the faculty to ensure it is inclusive, high-quality, and dynamic.
Supporting the director in achieving the faculty’s operational and strategic goals, you will oversee the curriculum to promote student success through effective delivery, guidance, and support. You should provide inspirational leadership for staff and ensure opportunities for their continuous development.
This role requires excellent communication skills and demonstrable staff management experience. The successful candidate will be an inspirational manager, ensuring staff and students meet standards of educational excellence. Please note, this role does not involve teaching or assessment responsibilities.
Applicants should be qualified to SCQF Level 9, with evidence of continuous professional development, preferably including a teaching qualification and/or management qualification. Experience in Childhood Practice and/or Sports and Fitness settings is desirable. Industry experience within an education setting is essential.
