Overview
We are looking for motivated, passionate, and professional High Intensity CBT Therapists to join the Talking Therapies service. This is an in-person role with a minimum of 2 days on-site per week, with some remote work available. The service provides high-quality care with strong supervision, training, and opportunities for innovation and development.
Location: Holmhurst Medical Centre, 12 Thornton Side, Redhill, Surrey RH1 2NP. Employment type: Permanent. Working pattern: Full-time or part-time (minimum 3 days per week). Salary: Depending on experience from £47,810 plus 2.5% on-site days. Date posted: 23 September 2025.
Responsibilities
* Provide high-intensity cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) in-person for a minimum of 2 days per week and online for additional days.
* Work with clients presenting with moderate to complex Anxiety and Depression where CBT is clinically effective.
* Assess referrals for suitability, implement and evaluate therapy interventions using digital platforms, and maintain confidentiality and professional standards.
* Exercise autonomous professional responsibility for assessment and treatment; manage risk according to service protocols.
* Educate and involve family members as necessary; adhere to activity contracts to minimize waiting times and ensure accessibility.
* Attend multidisciplinary meetings, complete data collection, and maintain coherent clinical records.
* Collaborate with team to ensure stepped care, and integrate work and employment issues into therapy.
* Carry out clinical audits, collect feedback, and disseminate results for service improvement.
* Engage with internal and external stakeholders and maintain effective working relationships across services.
Training and Supervision
* Adhere to BABCP supervision requirements; review clients in supervision regularly.
* Contribute to teaching and training of mental health professionals; participate in approved supervision training.
Professional Standards
* Maintain standards of practice, uphold client confidentiality, and deliver effective CBT interventions in-person and virtually.
* Stay up-to-date with guidelines and research; maintain CPD records and participate in performance reviews.
* Engage in service improvement and maintain professional development plans.
Advisory / Liaison
* Provide advisory input on CBT practice across trusts and voluntary agencies; promote links with Primary and Secondary Care to coordinate Psychological Therapies services.
General and Compliance
* Contribute to best practice; maintain knowledge of legislation, policies, and Safeguarding.
* Ensure data protection compliance and Caldicott principles; uphold health and safety standards.
* Do not misuse official position for personal gain; understand that the job description may be updated as services develop.
Qualifications
* Essential: BABCP-accredited Band 7 CBT Therapist; experience treating anxiety and depression in Primary Care; able to work virtually and deliver CBT; strong writing and reporting skills.
* Desirable: Experience teaching and liaising with other professional groups; experience with clinical audits; supervision training.
Skills & Competencies
* Competence framework for CBT (Roth & Pilling 2007); IT proficiency; effective communication via telephone, video, and written formats; risk assessment skills; ability to build therapeutic relationships online.
* Willingness to travel within Surrey for work.
