Job Description
A1 Personnel are curently recruiting for a Manual Turner on behalf of our client, a well established manufacturing compnay based in Basildon.
This role involves working with manual lathes to produce high-quality precision components according to engineering drawings and specifications.
Key Responsibilities:
* Operate manual lathes to machine components to tight tolerances.
* Read and interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications
* Cut, grind or drill materials as required
* Perform quality checks using measuring tools such as micrometers and verniers.
* Ensure the proper maintenance and upkeep of machinery.
* Work safely and efficiently, following all company and industry regulations.
* Collaborate with engineers and other team members to improve processes and productivity.
Requirements:
* Proven experience as a Manual Turner in a precision engineering environment.
* Strong understanding of engineering drawings and machining principles.
* Proficiency in using manual lathes and measuring tools.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
* Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
Desirable Skills:
* Experience working with a variety of materials (e.g., steel, aluminum, brass).
* Knowledge of other manual machining processes (milling, grinding, etc.).
* Apprenticeship or formal engineering qualification (preferred but not essential).
