Manufacturing Supervisor (Night Shift)
Location: North West – Engineering Centre of Excellence
Shift Pattern: Monday to Thursday – Night Shift
Salary: £60,000 – £65,000 per annum
We are currently seeking an experienced Manufacturing Supervisor (Night Shift) to join a well-established UK engineering manufacturer operating within a safety-critical, regulated production environment.

About the role
The primary purpose of this role is to lead and supervise night shift manufacturing operations, ensuring the safe, on-time delivery of finished products to the required quality and cost standards, while championing continuous improvement across all areas of responsibility.
This role operates on a Monday to Thursday night shift pattern, offering a long-weekend schedule.
Key responsibilities include (but are not limited to):
Leading night shift teams in line with Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality policies, driving SHE activities within the area
Ensuring products are delivered to cost, quality and schedule requirements, implementing recovery plans and short interval control where required
Effective deployment of labour and resources to achieve returned hour and productivity targets
Managing attendance, absence, welfare and return-to-work processes in line with company procedures
Ensuring team competence, flexibility and capability through training, upskilling and development activities
Preparing and reporting daily operational and performance metrics to senior management
Ensuring full compliance with Quality Management Systems and manufacturing procedures, addressing any non-conformances
Maintaining the competency, capability and capacity of the manufacturing team to meet programme requirements
Conducting start- and end-of-shift briefings to ensure clear communication with the workforce
Owning and communicating local SQCDP KPIs to the team and management
Leading daily workplace audits to maintain “visitor-ready” standards
Supporting redeployment to other areas of the business where required
What we’re looking for

If you do not meet every requirement, please outline how your experience makes you suitable:
Degree or HND in Manufacturing or an Engineering discipline
Proven experience in a Manufacturing Supervisor or similar leadership role
Experience leading teams in aerospace, automotive, defence or similar mechanical engineering environments
Strong understanding of managing risk and operating safely in manufacturing environments
IOSH or NEBOSH qualification
Experience leading and implementing manufacturing schedules and recovery plans
Resource planning and competence management experience
KPI definition, reporting and performance tracking
Working knowledge of SAP or similar ERP systems
Strong IT skills (MS Excel, Word and PowerPoint)
Equipment maintenance oversight and preventative maintenance planning
Knowledge of Material Requirements Planning (MRP)
Experience completing employee performance reviews
Strong cross-functional collaboration skills
Full UK driving licence
