Overview
We are seeking a talented and passionate Head Chef to lead our kitchen team in our 57 bedded care home. The ideal candidate will possess extensive culinary knowledge and a strong background in food production. As Head Chef, you will be responsible for overseeing all kitchen operations, ensuring the highest standards of food quality, safety, and presentation.
Duties
* Supervise and coordinate the activities of kitchen staff to ensure smooth operations
* Develop and implement creative menus that reflect seasonal ingredients and customer preferences
* Oversee food preparation and cooking processes to maintain quality and consistency
* Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and maintain a clean, organised kitchen environment
* Manage inventory, ordering supplies, and minimising waste to optimise kitchen efficiency
* Train and mentor kitchen staff in cooking techniques, food safety practices, and hospitality standards
Skills
* Proven supervising experience in a professional kitchen environment
* Strong background in food production and preparation techniques
* Insight in to the IDDISI food levels
* Extensive culinary experience with a passion for cooking and creativity in menu design
* Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices in hygiene
* Previous restaurant experience is highly desirable
* A commitment to delivering high-quality dishes while maintaining hospitality standards
* The ability to lead small team

Pay: £12.85-£14.35 per hour
Expected hours: 33.5 per week
