An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Catering & Events Manager to join the Ulster Reform Club in Belfast. The Ulster Reform Club, established in 1885, is an exclusive private members club in the heart of Belfast City Centre.
We pride ourselves on Hospitality, Conviviality & Individuality offering a bespoke and high-quality food and beverage service to our members. This is an ideal venue for a wide range of private members only conferences, banquets and celebration events, as well as a busy local food and beverage operation in our Members Dining Room.
With a focus on growth and maintaining the high standards our members expect, this result-orientated Manager will play a key role in our management team. Responsible for the day-to-day Operations of our Members Dining Room, as well as the planning and delivery of the numerous events that take place in the club. We are looking for someone who is enthusiastic about service, has attention to detail, experience in event planning & delivery and that enjoys delivering consistent first-class customer experience to all who come through our doors.
What will I be doing?
Reporting to the General Manager, this is a hands-on role managing the daily Food Operations of the Club as well as planning and delivering the numerous Club and Private member events.
The Catering & Events Manager will oversee a team of Food Service staff and work closely with the Bar team and Member Relations Manager.
You will be responsible for performing the following tasks to the highest standards:
· Manage the daily Dining Room Operations
· Maintain exceptional levels of customer service
· Ensure compliance with Food Safety as well as Health & Safety regulations
· Recruit, Manage, Train and develop the Food & Beverage team
· Manage guest queries in a timely and efficient manner
· Work within budgeted guidelines in relation to Food and Payroll costs
· Set department targets and objectives, work schedules and support on the development of continued staff training
· Promoting Events and functions to members,
· Cash Handling
· Planning and delivery of all Club and Private Member events
· Be a key holder of the building
· Compliance with regards to Health & Safety
· Carry out annual and mid-year appraisals with your team
· Evaluate member satisfaction levels with a focus on continuous improvement
What are we looking for?
The ideal candidate for the Catering & Events Manager position will have:
· Held a similar role previously
· 4- or 5-star experience, in either hotels, Private member clubs, events or hospitality setting
· Management and/or supervisory Food & Beverage experience
· Ability to meet financial targets
· Understanding of Food & Beverage financials
· Knowledge & experience of first-class service delivery
· Event planning and delivery
· Attention to detail
· Willingness to develop team members
· Team player
· Excellent communication skills
· Passion for delivering exceptional levels of service
What we are offering
· This is a full-time position,
· 39 hours per week,
· Working 5 days out of 7, that will be based on the operational requirements of the Club.
· We are offering a salary of £30k - £35k plus staff fund
· You will receive a total of 30 days annual leave per year,
With our holiday year running from April 1st to March 31st,
Some will be customary holidays and closure days of the Club.
· Customary holidays include Public/Bank Holidays,
We also have Christmas closure from evening of Christmas Eve until early January.
· This is predominantly Monday to Friday,
With a limited number of evenings and weekend days and/or evenings.

· Probation period of 6 months,
