We're looking for a Teaching Assistant to join us in September 2025. We support autistic students aged 11-16, who may also have associated behavioural, communication, and multiple learning difficulties. About the Role: As a Teaching Assistant, you'll work closely with the class teacher to create a safe, supportive, and engaging learning environment. Your key responsibilities will include: Safeguarding and promoting the welfare of our pupils. Building positive relationships with students to help them feel safe and enjoy learning. Supporting positive behaviour and concentration levels, adapting your approach as needed. Promoting independence and personal development with high expectations. Assisting with the delivery of learning activities and providing resources. Giving meaningful feedback on student progress and attitudes. This is a dynamic role where flexibility is key - you'll be expected to adapt and contribute wherever needed to support the overall aims of the school. What We're Looking For: We're seeking a compassionate, positive, and creative individual who is committed to putting the child first. Essential: GCSE Maths and English Language (Grade 4 or equivalent). Experience working with SEN (Special Educational Needs) in an employed or voluntary setting. Understanding of Safeguarding principles and Child Protection procedures. Knowledge or experience of pupils with SEN, SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health) or ASD (Autism Spectrum Disorder). Ability to provide consistent support and complete reports accurately. Willingness to participate in the school's behaviour support approach, including physical intervention (Team Teach accredited) when absolutely necessary and as a last resort. Desirable: A recognised qualification at Level 2 or above in Support Work for Teaching and Learning in Schools or an equivalent. Working Hours: This is a Term Time Only position, 40 hours per week.
