What You'll Be Doing
At Southwark Council, we’re not just planning for the future, we’re building it. As part of our dynamic Planning & Growth service, this is your opportunity to drive real social impact through employment support, directly aligned with our Southwark 2030 vision.
This isn’t just another support role, this is about empowering lives, influencing a fairer economy, and being part of an ambitious team delivering industry‑leading models like Individual Placement and Support (IPS) and the Supported Employment Quality Framework (SEQF).
This role is being offered on a 2‑year fixed term basis.
* Manage a personal caseload, delivering one-to-one, tailored employment support to Southwark residents.
* Work collaboratively with clinical teams and community partners to provide a joined-up service.
* Build relationships with local employers to unlock inclusive job opportunities and promote long‑term economic independence.
* Champion and apply IPS and SEQF models to support people with disabilities or long-term health conditions.
* Contribute to wider economic growth programmes across the Planning & Growth division.

What We're Looking For
* Passionate about making a real difference in people's lives through employment.
* An understanding of the barriers people with health conditions face accessing the labour market.
* Knowledge of the local job market, including in-demand industries and skills gaps.
* Familiarity with or willingness to train in IPS and SEQF frameworks.
* A great communicator who is compassionate, proactive, and naturally builds trust and rapport.
* First‑class organisational skills with a flair for forward‑planning and multitasking under pressure.
* Exceptional written and verbal communication skills using Microsoft365.
* Confidence handling sensitive information with the utmost discretion.
* You’ll have a track record of developing others and delivering results and shared goals.
* Able to manage programmes and projects, making sure every milestone is hit and every challenge tackled.
* You’ll be required to travel across the borough visiting employers and working from our community hub in Peckham.
