Your new role
Asmercial Manager, you will play a pivotal role in driving thepany’smercial strategy and ensuring profitability across key categories. Reporting directly to the Managing Director and sitting on the senior leadership team, you will oversee both sales and purchasing functions, managing supplier relationships, pricing strategies, and promotional activity.
Key responsibilities include:
1. Managing key customer accounts, including pricing, rebates, and promotional agreements.
2. Implementing supplier price changes and ensuring accurate product and pricing data across internal systems and customer portals.
3. Driving margin performance and identifying revenue opportunities through supplier negotiations and marketing initiatives.
4. Overseeing stock management to balance availability and minimise waste.
5. Introducing new product ranges toplement existing offerings and support growth.
6. Leading themercial team, including sales and distribution personnel, to achievepany targets.
7. Organising trade events and ensuringpliance with customer and legislative requirements.
8. This is a hands-on role that requires strongmercial acumen, excellent negotiation skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
What you'll need to succeed
9. Proven experience in a similarmercial or trading role within FMCG, ideally with exposure to the retail convenience sector.
10. Strong understanding of pricing, margin management, and supplier negotiations.
11. Excellentmunication, numeracy, and organisational skills.
12. A proactive, solutions-focused approach and the ability to work collaboratively as part of a small, high-performing team.
