* Generate detailed 3D CAD models and fully toleranced drawings to industry standards.
* Carry out mechanical FEA using ANSYS or similar tools to support structural and fatigue analysis.
* Evaluate new materials and manufacturing methods to enhance product durability and efficiency.
* Support the transition of designs into production including BOM creation, test plan coordination, and supplier liaison.
* Participate in design reviews, DFMEAs, and validation planning.
* Ensure compliance with relevant industry and internal quality standards.
* Collaborate cross-functionally with electrical, controls, and manufacturing teams.

Key Skills & Experience:

* Degree-qualified in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
* Strong background in mechanical design of rotating machinery – e.g., electric motors, gearboxes, or transmission systems.
* Proven experience with spline shaft design, tolerancing, and mechanical jointing.
* Proficiency in SolidWorks (or similar) for 3D modelling and drawing creation.
* Experienced in mechanical FEA (preferably ANSYS) including structural and dynamic analysis.
* Solid understanding of design for manufacture, reliability, and cost optimisation.
* Familiar with industry standards and compliance requirements for mechanical systems.
* Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work on complex, high-integrity designs.
