The SENDCO will ensure that Special Education Needs (SEN) provision is effectively and efficiently managed, meeting all legal and statutory requirements for students needing SEN.
The SENDCO will take on the day-to-day responsibility within the Education Team to provide professional guidance on SEN to teaching staff, maintaining and increasing high standards of teaching, making good use of resources to improve standards, and achieving positive outcomes for students.
Responsibilities include reviewing, attending, and leading EHCP reviews for pupils, liaising with class teachers to ensure up-to-date information is collected and collated, and coordinating with multi-agency professionals, Assistant SENDCo, and Assistant Head of Inclusion to update and share outcomes with staff and external professionals.
Main Responsibilities:
In conjunction with the Assistant Head of Inclusion, to:
* Ensure the Education Team meets high standards in SEN responsibilities.
* Support collaboration with the residential department for effective communication.
* Maximize learning opportunities for all students.
* Monitor the quality of SEN support by implementing systems to assess and identify student needs.
