Security Team Leader

Hours: Full time, 4 on, 4 off, 07:00 - 19:00
Pay: £14.00 per hour
About the Role
We are seeking a Security Team Leader to lead a dedicated security team. This role is pivotal in ensuring safety and operational excellence across the museum.
Responsibilities
* Lead, motivate and support a team of Security Officers to deliver safe, effective and professional operations.
* Oversee daily security activity including patrols, access control, incident management and emergency response.
* Ensure all duties—core and ad‑hoc—are appropriately staffed through effective workforce coordination.
* Conduct performance monitoring, appraisals and regular feedback to maintain high standards.
* Support training, mentoring and development initiatives to enhance team capability and confidence.
* Ensure compliance with health and safety legislation, museum policies and risk‑management procedures.
* Promote a positive, supportive working environment that prioritises staff wellbeing.
* Balance robust security practices with excellent visitor service, ensuring a safe and welcoming experience for all.

What We Are Looking For
* Proven supervisory or management experience within security, facilities or a public‑facing environment.
* Strong leadership and people‑management skills with the ability to motivate and guide teams.
* Solid understanding of security operations, health and safety legislation and emergency procedures.
* Excellent communication, decision‑making and conflict‑resolution abilities.
* High levels of integrity, professionalism and reliability.
* Flexibility to work evenings, weekends and public holidays as required.
* A valid front‑line SIA and CCTV license.
