Address: Riverwalk School, Bury St Edmunds, Suffolk IP33 3JZ Salary: £12.81 per hour Hours: Part Time. 31.50 per week, Monday to Friday, 8.45am to 3.15pm plus 1 hour Training (Monday after school) and ½ hour team meeting (Thursday after school) (½ hour unpaid lunch) Contract: Permanent. Required from 1 September 2025 Reference: 7771 We are looking to appoint Teaching Assistants who are dynamic and friendly, with a passion for improving outcomes and life experiences for our pupils in the school with SLD and PMLD needs. As part of a class-based team you will need to be creative as well as resilient with a significant sense of fun. Play is an important part of the therapeutic approach. Your role is to facilitate access to learning for SEND pupils across the school. You will certainly get your steps in as our site is quite expansive! You will support teaching and learning, working with small groups and one to one as required. This is a challenging role but incredibly rewarding as part of a team which works together to make a real difference to the lives of our children with SEND and complex behavioural needs. What we offer: Comprehensive staff induction program Full support and training from a wider team Wide range of staff benefits Extensive Wellbeing support package Opportunity for career progression within the trust Personalised performance management Bespoke training programme Requirements: We are looking for Teaching Assistants who: - have some knowledge about SEND are passionate about ensuring the highest quality learning for children with complex needs and severe learning difficulties can provide a good role model for students and fellow colleagues will be prepared to use a range of strategies to support a diverse range of complex needs have strong interpersonal skills and innovative techniques (essential) can support each pupil to access a broad, balanced and relevant curriculum differentiated to meet individual needs can support tasks relating to ‘real life’ experiences are passionate about supporting learning characteristics in pupils can adhere to policies and procedures and follow GDPR guidelines can maintain confidentiality have a desire to participate in school and Trust CPD opportunities have an awareness of safeguarding are willing to contribute to the wider school through our curriculum enrichment and extended school offer.
