The Role
We are seeking a qualified Pharmacy Assistant, Pharmacy Technician, or Accuracy Checker to join our team. As an integral part of our dispensary, you will bring your knowledge, skills, and professionalism to ensure our patients receive safe, accurate, and efficient care.
This is a varied and hands-on role where you'll balance technical responsibilities with patient-facing duties. In a fast-paced environment, you'll need to use your initiative, attention to detail, and ability to prioritise tasks while supporting colleagues and maintaining the highest professional standards.
Key Responsibilities
* Dispensing & Accuracy:
* Safely and accurately dispense medicines in line with professional and legal requirements
* Conduct final accuracy checks (for Accuracy Checker qualified applicants)
* Support the pharmacist in preparing dosette boxes, repeats, and high-volume prescriptions
* Patient Care & Advice:
* Provide professional advice on the safe use of medicines and over-the-counter products
* Deliver excellent customer service, ensuring patients feel listened to and cared for
* Assist with resolving queries efficiently and professionally
* Teamwork & Support:
* Mentor, guide, and support trainee dispensers and customer service assistants
* Work collaboratively with pharmacists and colleagues to maintain smooth daily operations
* Contribute to a positive, supportive workplace culture
* Operational Duties:
* Assist with stock management, ordering, and maintaining accurate records
* Ensure the dispensary and pharmacy floor are safe, organised, and compliant with SOPs
* Support with administrative tasks such as prescription filing, endorsing, and processing claims
What We're Looking For
* Qualified Pharmacy Assistant, Pharmacy Technician, or Accuracy Checker
* (GPhC registration required for Technicians/ACTs)
* Proven experience in community pharmacy
* Excellent attention to detail and ability to work accurately under pressure
* Strong organisational and time-management skills in a busy environment
* Positive, professional attitude and a genuine passion for patient care
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to support and mentor others
