Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Cybersecurity Analyst to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for protecting our organisation's information systems by implementing security measures and monitoring network activities. You will play a crucial role in incident response, ensuring compliance with NIST standards, and maintaining the integrity of our IT infrastructure. Your expertise in various network protocols and security technologies will be essential in safeguarding our digital assets.
Duties
* Monitor and analyse security events using SIEM tools to identify potential threats and vulnerabilities.
* Implement and manage security measures including firewalls, IDS, and VPNs to protect sensitive data.
* Conduct regular security assessments and audits to ensure compliance with ISO 27002 and other relevant standards.
* Respond to security incidents, conducting thorough investigations and implementing remediation strategies.
* Collaborate with IT teams to design secure network architectures that support cloud computing and on-premises solutions.
* Maintain documentation of security policies, procedures, and incident reports.
* Stay updated on the latest cybersecurity trends, threats, and technologies to enhance organisational security posture.
* Assist in the deployment of encryption technologies and authentication mechanisms across systems.
* Provide support for network installation, configuration, and management including LAN/WAN environments.
Qualifications
* Proven experience in cybersecurity or a related field with a strong understanding of information security principles.
* Familiarity with routing protocols (OSPF, BGP), network protocols (TCP/IP, UDP), and network management tools (SolarWinds, PRTG).
* Knowledge of operating systems including Windows, Linux (Debian, CentOS, Ubuntu), macOS, and UNIX environments.
* Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, Google Cloud Platform; understanding of cloud architecture and infrastructure.
* Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python or Bash for automation tasks.
* Strong analytical skills with the ability to troubleshoot complex issues related to network security.
* Understanding of system administration practices including Active Directory, LDAP, DHCP, DNS configurations.
* Familiarity with tools such as Burp Suite for vulnerability assessment and New Relic for performance monitoring.
* Excellent communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively within a team environment.
