About the Role
Columbus School and College in Chelmsford is looking for a dedicated, caring and enthusiastic SEN Learning Support Assistant (LSA) to join our supportive team.
This is a highly rewarding role where you will support pupils with a range of Special Educational Needs (SEN), helping them access learning, develop confidence, and achieve their full potential.
You will work closely with teachers, therapists and support staff to create a positive, inclusive and engaging learning environment for all students.
Key Responsibilities
1. Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with SEN.
2. Assist teachers in delivering adapted learning activities and resources.
3. Support pupils with communication, emotional regulation and social development.
4. Help implement Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs) and behaviour support strategies.
5. ❤️ Provide personal care support where required.
6. Encourage students’ confidence, independence and participation in school life.
7. Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists and families to support student progress.
About You
We are looking for someone who is:
8. ❤️ Passionate about supporting children and young people with SEN.
9. Patient, caring and able to build positive relationships with pupils.
10. A team player with strong communication skills.
11. Calm, adaptable and able to support pupils with complex needs.
12. Experienced in an SEN or school setting (desirable but not essential).
13. ️ Committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
