The Role
As a Chemistry Laboratory Technician, you will be based in our UKAS-accredited laboratory, working within a close-knit team focused on soil and water analysis. This laboratory-based role is ideal for someone with a scientific background who is eager to develop their technical skills in a fast-paced and supportive environment.
The successful candidate will receive comprehensive in-house training, with ongoing support from experienced colleagues and senior members of our Scientific Division. You will gain a detailed understanding of the testing processes involved and contribute to delivering high-quality environmental testing services.
Key Responsibilities:
Carrying out chemical analyses, with a focus on soil and water testing, in accordance with UKAS and internal quality standards.
Maintaining accurate and organised laboratory records and documentation.
Ensuring the cleanliness and upkeep of the laboratory environment.
Using and maintaining laboratory equipment, with support from technical staff.
Working collaboratively with a small, fast-paced team, supporting one another to meet deadlines and client expectations.
Following strict quality control procedures and contributing to the lab's high standard of service.
What We're Looking For
We are looking for a scientifically minded individual with strong organisational skills and a meticulous approach to laboratory work. You should be comfortable working both independently and as part of a team, and able to maintain focus in a detailed, time-sensitive environment.
The ideal candidate will have:
A science-based qualification or background (e.g. Chemistry, Environmental Science, or similar).
A strong interest in laboratory work and environmental testing.
Excellent attention to detail and a methodical approach.
Good communication skills and the ability to work well within a team.
The ability to follow procedures accurately and consistently.
Previous experience in a laboratory setting is beneficial but not essential, as full technical training will be provided.
