Job Overview
We are seeking to appoint a Locum Consultant on a full‑time basis for a period of 6 months. This post is within the directorate of Trauma and Orthopaedics and will predominantly support our trauma service, although there will also be some elective sessions. The postholder must be fellowship‑trained and comfortable dealing with all aspects of elective orthopaedics and trauma.
Responsibilities
* Help deliver and network the orthopaedic service within Lancashire.
* Complement the team of established consultants and the wider MDT within the directorate.
* Supervise and train junior medical staff working with the postholder and supervise the education of medical students attached to the department.
* Keep up to date with developments within the specialty.
* Provide sessions at both Royal Blackburn Teaching Hospital and Burnley General Teaching Hospital.
Qualifications
* Fellowship‑trained and comfortable dealing with all aspects of elective orthopaedics and trauma.
