Overview
As an AIMS Predictive Services Engineer, you will be responsible for the successful delivery and integration of our remote-monitoring capability to various rail fleet projects. Note: keep language as in original; wording adjustments for clarity have been applied only where needed.
Responsibilities
* Develop automatic alerts for fault finding, prediction, and conditional-based maintenance (CBM).
* Carry out peer reviews on alert documentation produced by local teams, offshore teams and Site Orbita Engineers, providing constructive feedback and expert advice; provide governance to ensure that quality standards are maintained.
* Assist local depot / Engineering teams in the analysis, identification, automation and validation of remote data driven fault‑mode trend-to-failure identification and codification.
* Assist in the continuous improvement and generation of PSE processes (process systems engineering).
* Develop, validate and deliver tools and techniques to enhance the AIMS asset management computer system to meet business needs and generate value.
* Provide help and advice relating to the AIMS function's processes and working methods as part of a continuously improving quality process.
* Carry out training of nominated personnel in the advanced software functions and processes required for the automation of alerts.
* Assist in the creation of fleet monitoring strategies, working closely with the depots to ensure appropriate work packages are prioritised to deliver maximum reliability and availability.
* Undertake depot site visits as and when required to discuss new alerts and carry out knowledge transfer.
Qualifications
* Engineering degree.
* Professional engineering experience, ideally in the Rail industry.
* Ability to work on own initiative or as part of a team when required.
* Ability to communicate and generate rapport with a diverse array of people.
Desirable
* Knowledge of data analysis, condition monitoring and CBM tools.
* An understanding of bespoke Alstom systems, MMS (maintenance management systems) and site maintenance practices.
* Knowledge of Train Control & Monitoring Systems.
