Are you an experienced IT professional with experience in all aspects of GIS and LLPG? If so, this is a great opportunity for someone with the right skills to help develop the council’s GIS services. You would be joining the team at an exciting time as we are in the process of modernising the council’s complex ESRI ArcGIS Enterprise server architecture. What’s in it for you? About This Job You’ll be working with the Digital Services team to develop, support and manage application of geographic information-based monitoring systems throughout the council. Here’s What You’ll Get Up To Managing the council’s geospatial databases ensuring system integrity is appropriately maintained, data is accurate, up to date, correctly structured and accessible to all internal and external sources. Producing corporate geographic information related policy overlays, in relation to all aspects of service provision; including planning, development strategy and community insight data Creating, maintaining and implementing the corporate Land and Property Gazetteer Developing and continuously improving the Geospatial systems so they continue to underpin advances in the council’s digital delivery agenda Providing support and training for users at all levels within the council and adapting the training dependant on the audience Working Pattern Monday – Friday excluding bank holidays Full-Time 37 hours a week Permanent contract The team operates a flexible hybrid working model. Normally you will be expected to be on site at least once a fortnight. This may vary from month to month and could be more often depending on the projects you are working on. You will have the following; Your knowledge Knowledge of GIS, LLPG, street naming and numbering Knowledge of specialised software packages such as ArcGIS A good understanding of Ordnance Survey mapping and digitising techniques A practical working knowledge of digital systems and their implementation An understanding of Agile principles and methodology. Your experience Experience working with and analysing spatial data Experience of maintaining an LLPG compliant to BS7666 Understanding of LLPG Data Entry Conventions and BS7666 standards for gazetteers Experience in communicating with users and stakeholders at all levels to collect requirements, describe software product features, and align on technical designs Experience using large corporate systems, with the ability to meet deadlines, handle and prioritise simultaneous requests Experience of working with a technical development team to deliver solutions that are architecturally sound, maintainable, and scalable. Your Qualifications An undergraduate degree (or equivalent relevant experience) Due to the nature of this role, the successful applicant will be required to undertake a basic DBS check as part of their pre-employment clearances.
