Position: Technical Apprentice
We are currently seeking to recruit a Technical Apprentice. Internal applicants are welcome. The apprentice will provide technical systems and administrative support for Pilgrim’s Europe Group Technical Governance team while completing a Higher-Level apprenticeship in Food & Drink Manufacture (Foundation Degree/Level 5) with the College of Agriculture, Food and Rural Enterprise (CAFRE).
The Technical Governance role offers the opportunity to develop a strong technical background in food safety, quality standards, and operational compliance.
This apprenticeship serves as a stepping stone for a career within the Technical department. Successful completion opens pathways to advanced qualifications and specialised roles within Pilgrims Europe. As you grow, you will have opportunities to explore further education and qualifications within the group.
Responsibilities include:
1. Updating Pilgrim’s Europe FSQMS and related documents as required.
2. Maintaining technical document review schedules.
3. Managing the technical document approval process for Group FSQMS documents.
4. Developing and maintaining Pilgrim’s Europe Technical SharePoint sites, apps, and software systems.
5. Engaging with Group and site teams regarding FSQMS and other technical standards for input, amendments, and implementation.
6. Organising and minuting meetings.
7. Administering online Training Academy courses and managing access.
8. Collating training materials for courses.
9. Maintaining training records.
10. Assisting in the preparation of technical KPI and metric reports.
11. Providing support in other technical areas, which may include office and onsite factory work at other Pilgrim’s Europe sites.
Minimum qualifications:
* Minimum of two A-levels or equivalent qualifications (including a Level 3 Extended Diploma or Level 3 Apprenticeship) plus at least three GCSEs or equivalents at Grade C or above, including English Language, Mathematics, and a science subject.
* Good literacy, numeracy, and verbal communication skills.
* Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to take direction.
* Ability to challenge others professionally and constructively.
* Self-motivated with a positive outlook.
* Practical understanding and experience in the food manufacturing or agriculture sectors.
