About the role and what were looking for
This is an exciting opportunity to work in a busy and forward-looking Strategic Property team serving two district councils.
The role within a multi-disciplinary service will focus on strategic project delivery and project management (including some budget management and reporting) as well as coordination and project support for a broad range of projects, events, actions and engagement with both internal colleagues and external organisations.
Main duties and responsibilities
To support the Strategic Asset Management Lead and Strategic Property team by:
Managing and prioritising a personal workload of professional and strategic projects in accordance with the councils policies, priorities and procedures.
Helping to develop and maintain strategic project plans, ensuring actions are completed to deadline and reporting effectively, including written reports, to the team leader as required.
Organising and supporting public consultation events, in accordance with corporate policies and priorities, and attending relevant community-led and community focused meetings.
Creating and maintaining good professional working relationships and liaising with internal and external stakeholders, residents, consultants and contractors in accordance with corporate procedures.
Helping to organise project management, consultant and stakeholder meetings, and attending such meetings in a supporting role to record actions and update project plans as required.
Researching relevant data and preparing draft presentations for events using relevant software.
Helping to liaise with other services to ensure smooth working across the range of strategic project programme and to raise awareness of potential new projects.
General administration and project work that supports the smooth running of the Strategic Property team and to support the Strategic Asset Management Lead in the development and maintenance of an effective, relevant and focused work programme.
Actively participate in corporate and specific learning and development activities, to continually develop skills and abilities within the role and maintain up to date knowledge.
As required by the Strategic Asset Management Lead, leading on specific strategic projects and workstreams.
Any other duties that are commensurate with the role and the functions of the team.
About you

You have strong project management skills.
You are passionate about high quality placemaking and have a good understanding of sustainable communities issues.
You have effective communication and presentation skills and abilities to gain the respect, trust and confidence of colleagues, local people and stakeholders.
You have experience of working in multi-disciplinary local authority and/or consultancy teams.
You have an understanding of the frameworks within which development is delivered, for example the planning system.
Your essential qualifications
You have a relevant degree or equivalent demonstrable vocational experience.

You have membership of a relevant professional institution.
You have experience of working in a public sector setting, the voluntary sector or with community groups.
