Role: Learning and Support Administrator

Location: Dunstable This will be at a satellite school initially for 9 months whilst a new purpose built school is being built in Pulloxhill. All staff will then move to the new school in Pulloxhill.

Hours: Monday to Friday 9.00 – 16.00 (14.45 finish on Friday)

Contract: Permanent (temp to permanent)

About the School

This is a special school for children aged 5–11 with social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) needs. The new school will have 25 children building 50 within a year.

About the role

As a Learning and Support Assistant (LASA), you’ll play a vital role in our classrooms, supporting both teachers and pupils. Every day will bring new challenges and rewards as you help children to develop their confidence, social skills, and love of learning.

Your role could include:

* Working alongside the teacher to support whole-class learning.

* Supporting individual pupils with behaviour management and social development (training provided).

* Bringing your own strengths and interests into the classroom – whether that’s a subject passion, creative skills, or something else that enriches the learning experience.

* Being part of a class team where your ideas and input are highly valued.

This role is all about positivity, patience, and flexibility. A sense of humour is essential, as is the ability to stay calm when faced with challenging behaviour.

What we’re looking for

* GCSE English and Maths (Grade C/4 or above) or equivalent.

* Experience working with children is an advantage – whether in education, youth work, or another setting.

* An interest in supporting children with social, emotional, and mental health needs.

* Someone who is adaptable, resilient, and ready to grow with us.

What we offer

* Full training in SEMH practice, de-escalation, and behaviour management.

* Opportunities for professional growth and outreach-specific CPD.

* A supportive, welcoming team that shares ideas and celebrates success.

* The chance to shape and grow an expanding outreach service across Herts & Beds and potentially further afield.

* Real impact! Making a difference to children, schools, and families every day.

This is more than a school role; it’s an opportunity to help transform practice across a whole community
