About The Role
The Planner will support the CWA Enabling and Earthworks Geotechnical Section Planning Lead and the Section Lead. This role will provide a key link between the supply chain delivering the works, the requirements of the PAA programme, the CWA team managing the works and the PMO. Be part of this ‘once in a generation’ project that will deliver clean energy to 6 million homes for the next 60 years. Sizewell C will see the creation of a 3.2 Gigawatt nuclear power station on the Suffolk coast to provide reliable low‑carbon electricity.
The Civil Works Alliance is an extended delivery enterprise involving Sizewell C and three international construction companies: Balfour Beatty, Bouygues Travaux Publics and Laing O’Rourke.
We are more than just an alliance; we are bringing together a single delivery organisation with years of learning and experience from other major complex infrastructure programmes worldwide.
What you’ll be doing
* Assist with the development of the delivery programme, including close working and coordination with Senior Planner, delivery teams, supply chain to build up the optimum methodology, sequence, timing, production & resource.
* Assist with programme updates with respect to performance during the construction period.
* Recommend mitigation measures on areas of forecast critical programme slippage.
Who we’re looking for
* A degree, HND or similar equivalent in a civil engineering or construction subject is desirable.
* Experience of planning services within large complex environments within the construction industry.
* Good experience in scheduling tools and software like Primavera P6, MS Project or ASTA.
* Understanding of the methods of construction, including plant, equipment and labour requirements.
* Relevant CSCS Card.
