Stratospherec is delighted to be recruiting for a global software company making a real impact in the healthcare sector.
This hybrid role will be based one day a week in the company’s beautiful office in East Sussex, where you will work as part of a close-knit team. You will be responsible for delivering high-level technical support and customer service, owning the technical aspects of the company’s infrastructure, communication, and telephony systems located at hosted cloud environments, data centres, head office, regional offices, and client sites.
The role involves engaging in exciting new projects, overseeing operational maintenance, resolving client and internal system issues swiftly, maintaining and developing the company’s local/cloud virtualisation and storage infrastructure, providing capacity, resilience, and performance analysis and improvements, and troubleshooting system and connectivity issues.
You will also manage infrastructure support tickets and documentation, perform preventative maintenance, ensure systems are patched and documented, analyze and prevent repeat problems, and develop operational and configuration procedures. Additionally, you will provide proactive monitoring and alerting of key systems, identify and rectify core system availability issues quickly, and perform regular security and system monitoring to verify hardware, server resources, systems, and key processes' integrity and availability.
Participation in developing, maintaining, and testing Disaster Recovery plans is essential. You will support operational projects, provide extended technical support for client server deployments, rebuilds, and upgrades, and implement technical solutions from planning through to go-live, including hardware, peripherals, services (including cloud services), settings, directories, and storage, in line with standards and project requirements.
The ideal candidate will have:
1. Technical authority on Microsoft Windows Server architecture in a clustered, highly available environment.
2. Experience administering Linux systems, including user management, file system management, and service configuration in distributions like Ubuntu and CentOS, with proficiency in Bash scripting and troubleshooting Linux issues.
3. Strong knowledge of configuring and supporting virtualisation technologies, especially VMware vSphere.
4. Experience with Microsoft Exchange, both hosted and cloud-based solutions.
5. Excellent experience administering Microsoft Entra ID, Active Directory Domain Services, and related roles.
6. Experience supporting Microsoft Windows client OS and desktop hardware in a corporate environment.
7. Experience with HP Enterprise server architecture and SAN technologies.
8. Experience managing small technical projects from inception to completion.
9. Knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server architecture, maintenance, and scripting.
10. Experience with PowerShell scripting.
11. Experience with client and server security products.
12. Experience with Virtual Desktop Platforms such as Citrix DaaS or Azure AVD.
