Project Engineer Job Overview
The Project Engineer will take responsibility for managing a diverse range of bespoke engineering projects from concept through to delivery. This is a hands-on technical role requiring a solid background in heavy engineering, welding standards, and European quality requirements, combined with proven project management capability.
Key Responsibilities
Lead engineering projects from design through to manufacture, installation, and commissioning.
Act as the technical liaison between clients, design, fabrication, and site teams.
Ensure compliance with ISO quality management systems, welding standards, and relevant European directives.
Prepare and manage project documentation including quality plans, welding procedure specifications, and inspection/test records.
Develop and control project schedules, budgets, risk assessments, and resource allocation.
Provide technical expertise to resolve challenges during design and fabrication.
Drive continuous improvement in processes, standards, and customer delivery.
Project Engineer Job Requirements
Degree or equivalent in an engineering discipline (mechanical, manufacturing, or related).
Strong technical background in heavy engineering with exposure to bespoke, non-repetitive projects.
In-depth knowledge of welding standards (MIG, TIG, ARC) and European/ISO engineering standards.
Experience in creating and managing quality documentation within engineering/manufacturing environments.
Proven project management experience, delivering complex engineered solutions.
Excellent communication skills and ability to work with customers and cross-functional teams.
Project Engineer Salary & Benefits
£40,000-£45,000 salary depending on experience.
