Job overview

We are seeking Band 7 CAMHS clinicians for our team, which includes an Intensive Outreach service and a Crisis and Hospital Assessment team. This advert is for one Band 7 clinician in each team.

Our team is dynamic, supportive, and creative, with recent investments enabling us to find a suitable candidate who can bring skills, experience, and enthusiasm to meet the needs of children and young people with complex mental health needs.

We are committed to the development of our team and offer regular training opportunities. We also prioritize continuous professional development (CPD) and support external training for workforce development.

Our team fosters a culture of togetherness and actively promotes safety in diversity. We regularly explore anti-oppressive practice and its implications for young people, clinicians, and the wider healthcare service.

We promote wellbeing within our service, including a monthly dedicated space for this, which encompasses external reflective practice and supervision.

This role involves a mix of shifts depending on the specific post. Both teams include leadership responsibilities such as supervision, service development, and senior duties, e.g., Senior Shift Coordinator.

Main duties of the job

If working with the Hospital Assessment and Crisis Team, your shifts would include 9-5, 2-10, 4-12, and up to 3 overnight shifts to cover the Emergency Response Line. For the Intensive Outreach Team, shifts would include 9-5 and 12-8. Both teams operate over a 7-day period, with roughly one weekend work every 4-5 weeks.

Hospital team

You will work in both clinical and leadership roles, developing in various environments. A key duty is to conduct holistic assessments of young people presenting to A&E or hospital in mental health distress and supporting their pathway through CAMHS or other signposting options. Completing thorough risk assessments using clinical experience and risk management models is essential.

Intensive Outreach Team

You will serve in clinical and leadership capacities within our IO team, supporting young people and families at risk of Tier 4 psychiatric admission or those who CAMHS find challenging to engage. We provide intensive support, including up to daily visits, following CPA and goal-based outcome measures, ensuring services are led by the young person's voice.
