We are seeking a compassionate, reliable, and person-centred Personal Support Worker (PSW) to support an adult female with Down Syndrome, living in Saffron Walden. What this role is all about: • Being a friendly companion and helping your client enjoy their day, their way • Supporting them with daily routines like food shopping, going for walks, or indoor hobbies • Providing gentle personal care with dignity and respect • Assisting with meals, medication, and light household tasks • Helping them access the community and feel included and supported • Giving them choices and independence, while always putting their needs first • Supporting cultural and religious routines that are meaningful to them What we’re looking for: Essential: • Experience supporting individuals with learning disabilities. • Understanding of person-centred care and promoting independence. • Ability to provide calm reassurance and manage anxiety-related behaviours. • Strong communication and observation skills. • Patient, consistent, and supportive approach. Desirable: • Experience of sign language and Total Communication • Experience with budgeting support and community-based care.
