SEN Teacher
Job Description:
Prospero Teaching, a leading education recruitment agency, is searching for a dedicated and experienced Teacher to work in Special Educational Needs (SEN) and Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) settings in the Huddersfield area. As a Teacher in these unique environments, you will have the opportunity to make a significant impact on the lives of students with diverse learning needs.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Plan and Deliver Lessons: Develop and deliver tailored lessons that cater to the individual needs of students with SEN/SEMH requirements.
2. Differentiated Instruction: Adapt teaching methods and materials to accommodate various learning styles and abilities.
3. Classroom Management: Effectively manage behaviour in the classroom, implementing behaviour management strategies when necessary.
4. Individualised Support: Work closely with teaching assistants and support staff to provide individualised support and interventions.
5. Collaboration: Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including parents and external professionals, to create and implement individual education plans (IEPs).
6. Progress Monitoring: Maintain accurate records of student progress and provide regular feedback to students, parents, and stakeholders.
Requirements:
7. Teaching Qualification: Hold a valid teaching qualification, with QTS (Qualified Teacher Status) preferred.
8. Experience: Prior experience working in SEN/SEMH settings is highly advantageous.
9. Understanding: A deep understanding of SEN/SEMH needs and a passion for supporting students with diverse learning challenges.
10. Communication: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with students, parents, and colleagues.
11. Team Player: Ability to work collaboratively within a team and contribute to the development of inclusive learning environments.
