Job Description:
Halon Entertainment is the premier visualization and technology company, dedicated to storytelling in film, games, and advertisements. We are seeking a talented Senior Pipeline Engineer focused on Unreal Engine to join our pipeline team. Your role will involve developing and implementing production pipelines for VFX, animation, and virtual production, creating innovative tools, and ensuring efficient workflows across disciplines such as modelling, rigging, and rendering, including integration with render farm systems like Deadline.
Must be legally authorized to work in Scotland.
* Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in pipeline development within VFX, animation, or related industries.
* Deep understanding of animation, modelling, rigging, and rendering pipelines.
* Strong Python programming skills.
* Expertise in Unreal Engine, including Blueprints, Animation Blueprints, and Python API.
* Knowledge of DCC software like Maya, Houdini, Blender, Substance Painter.
* Experience with version control systems such as Perforce or Git.
* Understanding of SOLID principles and software engineering best practices.
* Ability to troubleshoot and resolve pipeline issues efficiently.
* Excellent collaboration and communication skills.
* Experience with AYON or similar pipeline frameworks is advantageous.
* Experience with cloud infrastructure and rendering workflows is a plus.
* Experience in building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines is desirable.
Responsibilities include:
* Automate tasks to maximize artistic output.
* Develop new features and tools for the pipeline.
* Identify and fix bugs, implement unit tests.
* Design and develop custom tools for DCC software, especially Unreal Engine.
* Integrate tools with various DCC applications and ensure seamless workflows.
* Collaborate with artists, technical directors, and engineers to optimize workflows.
* Provide technical guidance and develop tools for DCC software.
* Maintain and optimize render management and cloud-based workflows.
* Manage version control practices.
* Contribute to CI/CD pipeline implementation.
* Document tools and workflows comprehensively.
* Stay updated with industry trends and incorporate new technologies.
