About Our Client
Our client is a market leader in delivering decarbonisation/retrofit and planned refurbishment works across the UK social housing sector. Due to continued growth in their North East division they are seeking an experienced Estimator to support the pricing and tendering of new business opportunities within the social housing sector.
Job Description
3. Prepare detailed cost estimates and tender pricing for social housing refurbishment or retrofit schemes
4. Review tender documentation, specifications, drawings, and schedules of works
5. Undertake quantity take offs and pricing exercises using NHF Schedule of Rates and bespoke pricing models
6. Obtain and evaluate subcontractor and supplier quotations
7. Collaborate with bid, operational, and commercial teams to develop competitive tender submissions
8. Assess project risks, opportunities, and value engineering solutions
9. Support bid clarifications and client negotiations throughout tender stages
10. Maintain strong knowledge of market conditions, labour, and material costs
11. Ensure tenders are completed accurately and submitted within required deadlines
The Successful Applicant
12. Proven estimating or quantity surveying experience within social housing planned projects
13. Strong understanding of NHF Schedule of Rates and construction pricing methodologies
14. Ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications, and tender documents
15. Excellent analytical, numerical, and commercial skills
16. Experience working on competitive tenders and negotiated contracts
17. Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities
